Northwood, Ohio, August 25, 2003 - NAMSA, the world leader in nonclinical evaluations of medical devices and related products recently opened two facilities as part of its global expansion.
The first phase of biocompatibility laboratory expansion occurred at NAMSA Biomatech in Lyon, France. This 15,000 sq. foot animal laboratory facility opened in February 2003 and will be utilized for routine biocompatibility evaluations and efficacy or functionality studies of new devices. Small and large laboratory species along with farm animals will be housed at the new facility.
The second phase of global expansion is the new 45,000 sq, ft. animal facility and laboratory now operational in Northwood, Ohio in July of this year. According to the Director of Toxicology Dr. Joe Carraway, "This additional space enables NAMSA to offer a greater range of testing in a variety of large and small animal species." The new vivarium is designed to meet or exceed global requirements and it accommodates the latest advancements in animal husbandry and testing. An existing modern surgical suite and extensive histopathology capabilities also support this facility.
