Northwood, Ohio, October 4, 2004 - NAMSA, the world leader in the safety evaluation of medical devices announced plans to transfer testing that is currently performed in its Kennesaw, Georgia laboratory to NAMSA’s facility in Irvine California. The transfer of tests is not scheduled to begin until April, 2005.
“We are making the announcement well in advance so our customers affected by this change will have plenty of time to plan for the transition along with us,” states Jeff Blair, NAMSA President and CEO. Technical support personnel and NAMSA Advisory Services will remain in Georgia to maintain a high level of client service and support.
The primary factor driving the decision to consolidate this testing is the need to optimize the use of all NAMSA facilities. “Although NAMSA’s business continues to grow, the types of testing our clients demand have changed over recent years. We are adapting our facilities, equipment and staffing to meet these changing expectations,” adds Gina Skolmowski, Operations Manager for California and Georgia locations. NAMSA completed a facilities expansion in 2003 adding approximately 70,000 square feet of space to its U.S. and European laboratories.
NAMSA is a multinational company with laboratories in the United States and France. Primarily serving the health care industry, NAMSA offers testing services to device manufacturers, raw material suppliers, pharmaceutical and biotech companies, sterilizers and other related industries.
The U.S.A. laboratories are certified to ISO 13485 and Biomatech, in France, is accredited according to ISO 17025. NAMSA also manufactures sterility assurance products such as biological indicators, growth promotion test suspensions, and chemical process indicators.
