Justin Hartman has been working in the biomedical research industry since 2015. Before that he spent 6 years working in veterinary clinics and emergency rooms as a licensed veterinary technician with a focus on anesthesia and pain management. An internship in 2015 led to a position on the veterinary staff at Charles River Labs in Reno, NV. He acquired numerous research related skills in the handling, veterinary needs and care of non-human primates, rodents, and canines in a toxicology/pharmacokinetics setting.

While at Charles River, Justin led a team in the development of an advanced nutritional plan for pre/post op surgical candidates, created a novel wound management program that became the standard for other Charles River sites, and designed/implemented an anesthetic plan for juvenile non-human primates. In 2018 he became part of the surgical team at Charles River Labs where he specialized in telemetry implants, intrathecal catheterization, and the creation of new surgical procedures.

In 2023, Justin expanded his interest into device development and began working as a Surgeon at NAMSA, where he has developed an interest in neurosurgery and wound creation projects. He has presented at veterinary and research related conferences, as well as local colleges. Justin plans to continue promoting new ideas and techniques in the surgical research field and raise awareness for the biomedical research industry.

Justin holds an Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology and is a Licensed Veterinary Technician. He is also a Registered Laboratory Animal Technologist (RLAT) and Surgical Research Specialist (SRS) through the Academy of Surgical Research.
