Dr. Kenneth Ouriel
Chief Medical Officer

Kenneth Ouriel, MD, MBA currently leads NAMSA’s clinical and consulting businesses. With a dedication to exploring and advancing less invasive medical procedures to treat diseases, Dr. Ouriel has become a renowned Vascular Surgeon throughout his career. Dr. Ouriel’s exceptional career has made him a highly respected figure in the medical and business communities. He is committed to developing innovative medical techniques and advancing the field of medicine through research and collaboration, inspiring many in the industry.

Dr. Ouriel began his professional journey as a practicing Vascular Surgeon at the University of Rochester, where he completed his residency in General Surgery and Fellowship in Vascular Surgery. He then moved on to become the Chief of Vascular Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic, where he was promoted to the Chief of Surgery in 2003. He also oversaw the Cleveland Clinic’s Abu Dhabi facility before joining the New York Presbyterian Hospital as Chief of International Operations.

In 2010, Dr. Ouriel founded Syntactx, a Clinical Research Organization (CRO) that focused on Cardiovascular medical device trials. Syntactx was acquired by NAMSA in December 2020, with Dr. Ouriel assuming the role of Chief Medical Officer.

Dr. Ouriel has published over 325 scientific articles and authored five textbooks, demonstrating his extensive contributions to the field of medicine. He has served on several industry association boards, including the Society for Vascular Surgery, the Society for Clinical Trials, and the Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Society.

With an interest in the business aspects of medicine, Dr. Ouriel pursued an MBA from Columbia University and the London Business School.

John Amat

John Amat
Chief Commercial Officer

John Amat currently serves as Executive Vice President of Global Business Development of NAMSA. Under his leadership, NAMSA has experienced exceptional growth and successfully expanded market share, diversified service offerings, strengthened brand recognition and driven global expansion, solidifying the organization’s strategic direction.

Mr. Amat is an accomplished professional with over 30 years’ experience within the Medical Device and In Vitro Diagnostics industries. Before joining NAMSA, he played a pivotal role in the commercial transformation of Kimberly Clark Healthcare as Global Vice President of Sales and Marketing for 13 years. During his tenure at Kimberly Clark Healthcare, a $1.5 Billion healthcare division of Kimberly-Clark Corporation, he achieved significant growth and success. He has also held leadership positions at Sanofi Pasteur, first as General Manager for Latin America and later as Vice President of the Americas. Following the acquisition of Sanofi Diagnostics Pasteur by Beckman-Coulter, John assumed the role of Director of North American Sales and Marketing.

John’s multilingual abilities in English, Spanish and Portuguese, along with his diverse multicultural heritage, have been assets throughout his career. In 2009, Hispanic Business recognized him as one of the ‘Top 100 Most Influential Hispanics in the United States.’ He has also contributed his expertise by serving two terms on the Board of Trustees of the American Association of Peri-Operative Nurses (AORN) and is also actively involved in various non-profit organizations, including the United Way of North Fulton County.

John holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Pre-Med from Springhill Jesuit College (Mobile, Alabama) and attended two of Medical School at Universidad de Navarra in Pamplona (Spain) before he decided to redirect his career into business.

Michael Casey

Michael Casey
Chief Information Officer

Mike Casey currently serves as NAMSA’s Chief Information Officer. He has over 30 years’ experience in leading company transformations, enabled through information and technology, delivering high-value IT investments and services and enterprise implementations (ERP, CRM, PLM, reporting and analytics, digital workspace for virtual collaboration, cloud infrastructure, cyber security, automating IT operations). Mr. Casey also has a deep understanding of optimizing operations in multiple countries, as well as company acquisitions, mergers and divestitures.

Prior to NAMSA, Mike served as Vice President, Global Information Technology at Cantel, an infection prevention product manufacturer, and Tornier, an orthopedic medical device manufacturer. He has also served as the Director of Information Technology at American Medical Systems (AMS), a urology medical device manufacturer.

While at Tornier and AMS, Mike led the information technology transformation and helped drive the business transformation initiatives across the supply chain, product development, sales and financial operations. Mike began his career at AT&T Wireless. At AT&T Wireless, Mike led the delivery of solutions to support the launch of wireless markets in the Midwest, to consolidate regional distribution centers into a high-speed national distribution centers, and to transform the supply chain and financial operations.

Mike earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Minnesota and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas.

Kevin Slattery
General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

Kevin Slattery currently serves as NAMSA’s General Counsel and Corporate Secretary. In this role, he oversees all legal matters within the company, including litigation, contracts, corporate governance and regulatory compliance. Mr. Slattery also provides strategic guidance and leadership in navigating NAMSA’s mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities on both the buy and sell sides. Kevin’s combination of legal acumen, strategic leadership, and industry expertise makes him an asset to NAMSA and a respected figure within the MedTech community.

Kevin has held several notable positions in global life sciences companies prior to joining NAMSA. At biopharmaceutical companies Sanofi and Viatris (formerly Mylan), he served in various in-house roles with increasing responsibilities. His primary focus was on business development, particularly in M&A, where he skillfully negotiated complex deals in international markets.

Kevin obtained his Juris Doctor from the Duquesne University School of Law, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Pennsylvania State University.

Gina Skolmowski

Executive Vice President of Enterprise Strategy, Risk and Quality Management

Gina Skolmowski, MBA currently serves as Executive Vice President of Enterprise Strategy, Risk and Quality Management at NAMSA. She is an accomplished professional with a focus on strategic operations, risk management and quality management. She excels at building relationships, identifying strategic opportunities and successfully managing mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and integration processes.

Throughout her extensive tenure at NAMSA, Ms. Skolmowski has held various leadership positions, including Executive Vice President of Global Clinical, Data Services and Quality, Division President of Global Laboratory Operations, Vice President of Operations and Director of Operations. Her responsibilities have encompassed managing clinical, quality, laboratory, production and operational activities. Within these roles, she ensured timely service delivery, productivity enhancements, judiscious use of resources and providing overall operational guidance.

Gina’s holds an Executive MBA from California State University, as well as certifications from Six Sigma and an LAT from the American Association for Lab Animal Science. Actively engaged in professional organizations, Gina is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), the American Society for Quality (ASQ), the Society for Quality (SQA) and the Regulatory Affairs Professional Society (RAPS).

Rosanne Sawyer

Executive Vice President of Human Resources

Rosanne Sawyer currently serves as the Executive Vice President of Human Resources at NAMSA. Since 2014, she has driven the organization’s strategic initiatives and has led NAMSA’s Human Resources functions to support its growth and success. Her dedication to driving HR excellence, fostering a positive organizational culture, and contributing to the success of NAMSA and the MedTech industry has positioned her as a respected leader in her field.

With a focus on integrity and compassion, Ms. Sawyer is a results-oriented global HR executive. She has a remarkable ability to address and resolve complex business issues by implementing practical HR solutions that enhance productivity and yield cost savings. Her extensive experience spans various areas of Human Resources, including HR business partnering, compensation and benefits administration, organizational development and effectiveness, change leadership, culture development, talent management and board membership.

Throughout her career, Rosanne has held key positions at renowned companies such as GE, Chiquita Brands International, The Iams Company/Procter & Gamble, Limited brands and Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Rosanne holds Bachelors of Arts Degrees in Business Administration and Social Psychology (Nazareth College) and a Masters of Education Degree in Human Resources Development (Xavier University).

Lisa Olson

Lisa Olson
Senior Vice President of Global Laboratory Services

Lisa Olson currently serves at NAMSA as Senior Vice President of Global Laboratory Services where she leads a dynamically growing team responsible for Analytical Services, Biocompatibility, Microbiology and Preclinical research services. She joined NAMSA in 2019 as Global Director of Analytical Services before taking responsibility for global laboratory operations and joining the corporate Executive Leadership Team. Currently, Lisa focuses on strategic planning, M&A and integrations for testing services.

Lisa has over 27 years of medical device industry experience, including laboratory operations, research and development, clinical trials, regulatory consulting, service development, market development, executive leadership and international standards development. Prior to joining NAMSA, Lisa served as President at the Regulatory and Clinical Research Institute and as Vice President of Marketing and Technical Development at WuXi AppTec. Lisa brings a multi-disciplinary view to strategic growth and organizational transformation within highly regulated businesses.

Lisa received her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Minnesota and her Master of Business Administration from the University of St. Thomas.

Michelle Leonard

Michelle Leonard
Vice President of Integration

Michelle Leonard currently serves as NAMSA’s Vice President of Integration. She joined NAMSA in 2015 as the Director of Total Rewards and later became the Vice President of Global Human Resources in 2019. She is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in Human Resources and organizational integrations.

Ms. Leonard’s career in Human Resources spans several MedTech organizations, including notable leadership roles at Holcim (US) Inc., Aggregate Industries US, Holcim (Canada) Inc. and HCR ManorCare. Her expertise is within developing and implementing comprehensive Human Resources strategies, driving organizational effectiveness and managing successful integration initiatives. Throughout her career, Michelle has demonstrated a strong focus on talent management, employee engagement and building a positive organizational culture. She has a proven track record of implementing innovative programs and policies that enhance employee satisfaction, foster growth and drive overall business success. Her leadership in aligning Human Resources initiatives with the company’s strategic goals has been instrumental in supporting NAMSA’s growth and expansion.

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Human Resources from Bowling Green State University, as well as a Master of Finance from the University of Toledo. She is also an active member of the Ohio Life Sciences Industry Association, where she has served on the Board of Directors since 2019.
