Dr. Eric Benoit has a robust background in clinical research with a focus on trauma, surgical critical care, and vascular surgery. His research interests include clinical trial design—particularly event rate estimation and risk stratification—surgical complications such as unplanned reoperations and failure to rescue, and decision-making in surgical training.
He currently serves as the local principal investigator for a Phase 3 multicenter clinical trial evaluating AR-301 as adjunct therapy for ventilator-associated pneumonia caused by S. aureus. He is also the principal investigator on a Robert E. Wise Grant-funded study examining cognitive bias in surgical decision-making.
Dr. Benoit has authored over 20 peer-reviewed original research articles and multiple systematic reviews, including work on autologous cell therapy for critical limb ischemia. His contributions have significantly influenced clinical trial design and outcome measurement in high-risk surgical populations.
