Dr. Glenn Gaudette is a pioneering biomedical engineer and academic leader, currently serving as the inaugural Chair of the Department of Engineering at Boston College. With a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering and over three decades of experience, Dr. Gaudette is internationally recognized for his groundbreaking work in cardiac tissue engineering, cellular agriculture, and entrepreneurial engineering education.

He has secured over $5.5 million in research funding as Principal Investigator and co-founded multiple startups, including VitaThreads, focused on regenerative medicine. His innovative research—such as using decellularized spinach leaves as scaffolds for heart tissue and lab-grown meat—has been featured by National Geographic, Netflix’s Bill Nye Saves the World, and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

Dr. Gaudette holds numerous patents in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine and has published over 90 peer-reviewed articles. He is a Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors (NAI) and the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE).

A passionate educator, he has led national workshops on entrepreneurial mindset in engineering, developed ABET-accredited curricula, and mentored dozens of graduate and undergraduate researchers. His work bridges science, innovation, and education to create real-world impact in healthcare and sustainability.
